The Original Devil in Connecticut Book* Is BAAAAACK!
It's a case that stunned the world. In 1981 a legion of devils, 43 in all, invaded the home of an unsuspecting Connecticut family and possessed their youngest son. Then it got worse. The spirits had come to take a soul. And take it they did-in a bizarre, out-of-control murder that violated the very rules of God. Here Amityville demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren reveal the facts the courts refused to hear. Judge for yourself why "The Devil in Connecticut" is considered to be one of the worst cases of possession in the twentieth century.

BACK FROM THE GRAVE After more then 25 years, a large unopened lot of this rare, originally covered, and out-of-print book has been discovered. It's now being made available to the public, serious students of demonology, and fans of Ed & Lorraine Warren, the original

The Devil in Connecticut
A book so religiously controversial, it's rumored that lawyers for the church were commissioned to kill the selling of the book. The result ? After only six weeks on bookstore shelves, it disappeared. (Survived only by these few copies purchased!*)  Why? Because the book and story were true! Naming names, citing the facts, and revealing reported secret information.  In short, the Catholic church didn't want the story of this embarrassing defeat to get out! Nearly everyone who attempted to help the family came under physical demonic opposition. The possessing entities viciously attacked the boy, his immediate and related family members, every single Catholic priest assigned to  investigate the case and the very demonologists (Ed and Lorraine Warren) hat attempted to exorcise the 43 demons.

I have read this book several times over the course of 20 years and it scares me each time I read it. I can recall reading the book and getting chills/Goosebumps in each chapter. This is intense reading and not for the faint of heart. I am not one for leisure reading but this book is one that I will sit down for hours and read.

  The Devil In Connecticut-Darn Scary!!
Review by:

This is a true story- and very scary. If you do not believe in God and/or the Devil- this book might change your mind. All the events described here are backed up by eye witnesses: clergy, police, and some of their neighbors. If you liked this book, check out the Warren's other book based on one of their cases that in my opinion is even scarier: In A Dark Place. Discovery Channel even did a documentary on it called "A Haunting In Connecticut". Maybe you've seen it-if you're interested in the supernatural like me.

This is a true story about a family who came under strong oppression and possession of evil entities. If you are not a believer in good and evil, this book will change your mind.

I highly recommend this book to those seeking education on such subjects.

  Warning Label?

I purchased this book because I was in the process of doing research for a story I had in mind.

What I didn't know was that even reading half of the book would give me the full blown creeps the way it did. In all seriousness, the book was not read by me in it's entirety and went out of the house the very same day I got it.

I do not know what part my belief system played in the whole experience but the idea that anybody but a person with absolute solid nerves of steel needs to read this book is ridiculous. A teenager should not be allowed anywhere near this book. I would say only the most mature, solidly grounded person with unbreakable faith should be reading it.

There is some type of feeling of dread that comes from this book. I seriously am not trying to be melodramatic here but should you decide to try to give this book a read you are truly doing so at your own risk. There should be some type of warning on the front cover of the book. This isn't some dressed up Hollywood movie or a NYT best selling romance novel. It truly alters your perceptions, or at least it did mine.

I did some follow-up research on the book and found that many people had supposedly experienced unpleasant events after reading the book. I cannot qualify any of that except to say that statements are on the net for anybody to read and sort out on your own. There is even a site where the brother of the kid in the book states that nothing ever happened. Yes he had a mental illness but no he wasn't possessed. He describes a game of human Chess motivated by greed and money. None of us were there so none of us will ever really know.

My final observation about all of this is that the guy who wrote the book, Gerald Brittle, holds high degrees in advanced psychology. It even passed through my mind that if he is truly this advanced he might possible have somehow wrote this story in such a way as to put a psychological whammy on you. I do not have any idea.

The book is graphic in it's depictions but the photos do not really show much of anything. Some things described seem extremely unbelievable and seem to borrow from "The Exorcist". I guess interpretations would be on a per case basis and left up to the individual reader.

"The Exorcist" scared me but not as much as reading half of this book.

My advice is to stay away from the book.

If you want to invite nights of insomnia and some type of urge to keep looking out your windows then by all means...Knock yourself out.

The Strange Book: The Devil in Connecticut
Review by:

"The Devil in Connecticut" is an eye-opener to all and sundry who may not believe in the physical existence and influence of evil on earth. And whoever does not believe that Satan or devil, the evil one exists does not actually believe well that goodness (God) exists.

One thing excellent about the final and successful exorcism on the boy afflicted by the evil influence of Satan through the object consecrated to him, is that good (God) will always finally triumph over evil (Satan).

And this is the only hope for mankind here on earth and hereafter.

Those who claim that they do not believe in the existence of God and his goodness, should get some light and inspiration from the book, think twice, swallow their pride and arrogance, gather at least the crudest form of humility and ask themselves this question: If God does not exist, who or what then exists, the ungrateful and arrogant man?

This book should be read by every family on earth even though it is very costly at about $15.00 (1983 Paperback Edition) I bought it together with the postage. However I don't regret having a copy of it.
